Congratulations to all athletes that competed in the final days of the Australian Track and Field Championships.

Jake Doran (Townsville North Star) in the semi-finals running 10.31 to automatically qualify for the finals. In the finals of the Open 100m, with a fast start out of the blocks, Jake went into the lead early and finished the race in first with a time of 10.05. In the 200m heats, Jake ran 20.98 in the 5th to qualify for the finals. With another fast start in the finals, Jake ran 20.77 to place 2nd and come home with his second medal for the championships.

Hannah Edwards (Mulgrave Athletics) in the Open Hammer finals throwing 48.23m in the 3rd round to place 9th. In the U18 Shot put, Hannah put up a competitive 14.53 in the 5th round to place 4th and miss a spot on the podium by 21cm. In the U18 Discus Hannah threw her first World Junior Qualifier performance of the competition in the 3rd round with a throw of 48.94m to place 2nd. In the Open Discus Hannah threw another World Junior Qualifier with a throw of 49.64m in the third round to place 3rd overall.  

Ginger Cox (Pace Running and Multisport) in the U17 2000m Steeplechase, running 7:00.39 to come 1st.  In the U17 3000m Ginger ran 10:18.10 to place 1st in the first timed final, finishing 7th overall.  

Lachlan Buckman (Townsville North Star) in the U17 Javelin, with a throw of 66.17m in the final round to place 1st and becomes a 2x National Champion.

Zoe Chester (Townsville North Star) in the U17 Triple Jump, after a 12.37m jump in the first round Zoe had all but secured the gold medal. In the final round, Zoe extended her lead with a jump of 12.51m

Jascha Coetser (Townsville North Star) in the 110m Hurdles running 14.74 in the 1st heat with a time of 14.74 to qualify 7th going into the finals. In the finals, Jascha ran 14.60 to place 8th by 0.004 seconds.  

Unity Beitzel (Douglas Athletics) commenced the Open Heptathlon in the 100m Hurdles. In windy conditions Unity ran 15.55 to finish third with 770 points. In the next event of the Heptathlon, the High Jump Unity cleared 1.65m on the first attempt to finish 4th with 795 points. In the Shot-Put Unity threw 9.48m to place 7th and finish with 495 points. With the final event of Day 1 the 200m, Unity ran 27.58 in the 2nd heat to place 6th and finish with 664 points. At the end of day one Unity was comfortably in 5th place overall with 2724 points. With the Heptathlon Long Jump opening day 2, Unity jumped 4.84m in the last round to place 8th. In the penultimate event javelin, Unity threw 26.98m to place 9th with 420 points. With only 800m to run and finish the heptathlon Unity ran 2:33.93 to place 8th with 644 points. Unity finished the Heptathlon with 4303 to finish 7th overall.

Jade Bidgood (Peak Performance Track Club) in the first heat of the Open 800m running 1:57.64 to place 10th.

Holly Blunt (Keppel Coast Athletics) in the second heat of the U18 100m Hurdles running 15.91 to finish 4th. In the 400m Hurdles running 65.29 to place 5th and qualify for the finals. In the finals holly ran 65.34 to place 5th.

Harry Drovandi (Peak Performance Track Club) in the U18 800m running 1:56.27 to place 3rd in the 1st heat and qualifying for the finals. In the finals, harry ran 1:55.68 to place 4th and the 3rd Australian across the finish line.

Kholan Hayes (Townsville North Star) in the U18 Triple Jump with a jump of 13.30m in the first round to place 10th.

Adam Jorgensen (Ross River Athletics) in the U18 Triple Jump, with a jump of 13.80m in the 5th round to place 6th overall. In the U18 Long Jump, Adam Jumped 6.59m in the first round to place 8th overall. In the U18 400m Hurdles, Adam ran 59.93 to place 17th overall. Adam also ran in the QLD 4x400m team placing 4th with a time of 3:24.93.

Natalie Millerd T47/F46 in the Para U17 Shot Put with a throw of 7.96m in the 3rd round to finish second overall. In the Para U17 Discus Natalie threw 20.63 in the first round to place 3rd overall. In the Para U17 200m, Natalie ran 29.53 to place 4th overall.

Heath Otto T/F37 in the U17 1500m with a time of 6:41.17 to place 5th overall. In the Para U15 200m heath ran 35.00 to place 5th overall. In the Para U15 800m heath ran 3:16.41 to place 3rd overall.

Taj Townsend (Cairns Athletics) in the first heat of the U18 800m running 2:02.89 to place 8th.

Lindsey Hendy T/F20 (Townsville North Star) in the Open Para 200m running 24.56 to qualify for the finals. In the finals, Lindsey ran 24.57 to place 3rd overall.

Talarah Henseleit (Cairns Athletics) in the 200m heats running 25.84 to qualify for the finals. Later that day Talarah ran 25.64 to place 5th in the finals.

Kayne Kellett T/F37 (Townsville North Star) in the U15 200m running 35.74 to place 6th overall. In the Para U15 Long Jump with a leap of 3.59m to place 2nd overall.

Xavier Simms (Cairns Athletics) in the U17 200m running 24.03 to place 24th overall.

Angus Richardson (Pace Running and Multisport) in the U17 3000m running 9:49.01 in the first timed final to place 31st overall.

Kiera Jackson (Cairns Athletics) in the U18 Triple Jump jumping 9.04m in the first round to place 17th.

Jett Grundy (Keppel Coast Athletics) in the U18 4x400m QLD team running the final leg and finishing with a time of 3:24.96 to finish 4th.
