Sarina Athletics and Athletics North Queensland are hosting a Pole Vault Clinic between 13-14 November in Sarina. This clinic and competition is for athletes 12 above to experience the thrill of pole vault. 

Brodie Cross will take any beginners through an introductory session, while also overseeing those intermediate vaulters.  Brodie has represented Australia at the Youth Olympic Games (2010) , World Youth Athletics  (2011). and the World Junior Athletics Championships (2012).  

 

The clinic will cover the following areas to assist attending athletes, teachers and coaches: 

  • Pole Vault Drills (on grass and on the runway) 
  • Running and Jumping Drills 
  • Strength and Flexibility training 
  • Technique 
  • Competition and Training planning 

 

The clinic will start held between 9am -4pm on Saturday and between 9am - 2pm on Sunday. 

As part of the clinic, 2 mini competitions will be being held. This will occur at 2pm on Saturday and 10am on Sunday. These competitions are part of Athletics North Queensland Summer Series.

This clinic is open to athletes who never have experienced pole vaulting as well as those already training in the sport. Anyone attending as an athlete must be a member of ANQ, through an ANQ affiliated club. For those who are not members of an ANQ club, Sarina Athletics is offering a $25 base membership that allows membership until the 31 March 2022 . Details of this can be viewed by clicking here 

Cost:  $10 per person athlete. Teachers, coaches, volunteers can attend and do not need to register.
